About the Artist

Hiya, my name is Fussypants and on top of being a writer and a gamer, I am also an artist!

My art journey began back in 2014.  I’ve always been interested in art since a very young age, but for much of my life, art wasn’t something I actively did.  I didn’t take any art classes in school, and I hardly ever drew anything.  However, one fateful summer day, I cracked open a watercolor paint set on a whim.  ‘This medium always looks so pretty!’ I told myself, and my art adventure began!

Right from the beginning, I knew I wanted to tie my love of gaming with my love of art.  There was already such a wonderful and friendly Warcraft art community that this was an easy decision to make, and I quickly found myself immersed in a wonderful world full of role-models and friends.  In the interceding years, I did everything I could to practice and improve.

In 2016, I had a ‘soft-opening’ and offered Blizzcon Badges commissions over the course of one summer.  That experience taught me a lot, and I’m always eager to expand upon that knowledge! Since then, I have opened my commission queue intermittently for both Blizzcon Badges and general art commissions whenever my work and school schedule have allowed. Do keep your eyes on my Twitter to see when I am open! I absolutely love getting to bring people’s characters to life and I can’t wait to work with you!

As you have probably noticed, I am different from many other artists in the World of Warcraft art community in that I work exclusively in traditional medias.  Watercolor, gouache, inks, and pencils are my favorite mediums, but I’ve also dabbled in acrylics, pastels, and even a little bit of 3D art!  The commissions I offer will be predominantly done in watercolor and gouaches, but I’m always down for trying out something new.

Working in the mediums I do does change the commission experience a bit.  My turn around will definitely be on the longer side, due to the nature of the paints.  However, those who commission me don’t just get a digital copy of the artwork – they get the original painting mailed to them! This fact does change the way I work commissions a bit, which you can read more about in the Commissions Information section.
